ACCESS Mental Health
Connecticut's child psychiatry access program, ACCESS Mental Health for Youth, is a state- and federally-funded program created to help primary care providers identify and treat their patients under the age of 22 years old presenting with mental health and/or substance use concerns. Administered by Carelon Behavioral Health, the program’s three Hub teams offer real-time telephonic psychiatric consultation, individualized case-based education, and resource and referral support to all pediatric and family primary care providers across the state. In addition to psychiatric consultation, the program also provides free, monthly mental health and substance use focused trainings to primary care providers.
