Integrating Physical and Behavarioal HealthCare For Every Child.

Mission

The National Network of Child Psychiatry Access Programs (NNCPAP) supports existing and emerging child psychiatry access programs to further national progress toward effective integration of mental health and substance use disorders within primary care.

Vision

Child Psychiatry Access Programs are equipped to promote integrated care and address the needs of primary care practitioners. (All U.S. states and territories, all CPAPs will have all four parts of the stool)

Organization Description

The National Network of Child Psychiatry Access Programs (NNCPAP) promotes synergy, avoids duplication of efforts, and elevates the use of best practices within regional and state child psychiatry access programs. NNCPAP consists of existing and newly established access programs that provide consultation services to enhance the capacity of primary care providers in the assessment and treatment of mild to moderate mental health disorders. Following federal funding in 2018, 2021 and 2023 there are now over 50 programs including states, tribal nations and U.S. territories. The network promotes the reach of these programs to primary care practices throughout the country, thereby, increasing access for all youth during this child mental health crisis. Using the resources established by the network, the organization fosters the development of consultation programs in areas that would otherwise have difficulty finding the resources to start or sustain them.
